NineStar Connect currently has a job opening for the position of Support Center Technician. Utilizing our Fiber to the Home technology, NineStar Connect currently provides, voice, data, IPTV, power, and smart grid solutions to our customers. These, along with our other service offerings, make NineStar Connect an innovative and fast moving company. NineStar Connect allows you to work with the latest in communications and electric technologies, while providing a fast-paced and team centric atmosphere.This position involves providing help desk support to our customer base, with about 90% being phone-based support. Common troubleshooting involves assisting with phone trouble, internet issues ranging from no connectivity to slow speeds on dial-up, wireless, DSL, and FTTH, and troubleshooting IPTV issues. We are looking for candidates that are capable of troubleshooting common network and PC related issues remotely.Essential job functions include:

  • An individual that is passionate and excited to provide excellent customer and technical support
  • Familiarity with multiple Operating Systems (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, and 8)
  • Advanced understanding of common network terminology and technologies (NAT, DHCP, DNS, POP & SMTP, etc.)
  • Be capable of troubleshooting DSLAM systems and CPE gear (Routers, switches, Set Top Boxes, FTTX ONTs, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using multiple platforms (Phone Based, Click-to-Chat, Remote Support, and On-Site)
  • Ability to learn new skills and technologies
  • Be capable of analyzing and troubleshooting different technologies and issues
  • Being capable of handling stressful situations
  • Working as both a team and an individual
  • Attention to detail and being organized

A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field; a minimum of one (1) year experience in a help desk or related position a plus; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
